Rockwell Collins has a strong heritage in China. For more than a quarter of a century, we have worked closely with China’s aviation industry to meet the needs of rapidly growing commercial air traffic. All major Chinese airliners, including Air China, China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines and Hainan Airlines, are flying with Rockwell Collins avionics and cabin system products. These products provide the most advanced and reliable experience to passengers.
Our Pro Line 21™ avionics system is also a key feature of the ARJ21 regional jet, developed by COMAC. The ARJ21 flight-deck configuration strives for commonality with air transport flight decks, and is the result of a joint definition by COMAC, the airline pilot community and Rockwell Collins. In addition to supplying the avionics system, we serve as the avionics system integrator for the advanced regional jet.
Our Pro Line series equipment is installed in many airplanes manufactured in China, including the MA60/600, Y8, Y12, K8, and H425.
Along with our in-country partners CETC-A in Chengdu, LETRI in Wuxi and SAMRI in Shanghai, COMAC has selected Rockwell Collins to provide avionics and cabin systems for the new C919 family of single-aisle aircraft. These systems include our most advanced communication, navigation, integrated surveillance and cabin-management solutions.
In June 2009, Xian Aviation Science and Technology Company announced it was awarding Rockwell Collins the MA-60 and MA-600 simulator programs. We will apply our CORE™ simulation architecture to supply key components of the MA-60 full flight simulator and the MA-600 flight training device.
With our acquisition of Air Routing International in 2010 enabling us to launch Ascend Flight Information Solutions, we have expanded our operational presence in China. Ascend provides the business aviation community with a one-stop source for the online tools and specialized services they need to manage their regional and international flight operations.
