Barry M. Abzug, Ph.D., is senior vice president, Corporate Development and an elected corporate officer at Rockwell
Collins. In this position, Abzug is responsible for working with the company’s businesses in identifying and evaluating
new growth initiatives, acquisitions, joint ventures and alliances. He is also responsible for investor relations,
enterprise communications and the company’s intellectual property management. He was appointed to the position and
elected as an officer in October 2001.
Previously, Abzug served as president and general manager of ITT’s Aerospace/Communications Division, a position he
was appointed to in 1998. Prior to that Abzug held various positions of increasing responsibility, including vice
president and director of the Communications Systems Business Unit and vice president of business development for ITT’s
Aerospace/Communications Division. He also served as director of Strategy Development for ITT Defense & Electronics.
A native of New York, Abzug earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and a Master of Science degree in
Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He received his Ph.D. in Systems Engineering from The
University of Maryland.
Abzug is a Member of Eta Kappa Nu and Tau Beta Pi. Additionally, he is a senior member of IEEE, and has held
membership in the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) and the National Defense Industrial
Association (NDIA). He is currently on the advisory board of the Center for Strategic and International Studies and is
an officer and board member of Temple Judah.
